Products - EL Lamps

An EL lamp is a sandwich of two conductive layers, one clear the other opaque, with a phosphorescent material between them. By applying a high frequency alternating current from a suitable inverter to the conductive layers, a charge is created within the phosphor and it responds by emitting light.

The assembly is very thin and flexible. A suitable socket, crimped to the tail of the lamp makes the connection to the inverter.

EL lamps can be used to provide illumination for specifically printed 'point of sale' material or incorporated into membrane switch panels.

We can also supply 'smart' inverters, which sense the condition of the lamp and adjust its output accordingly.
